Built for accurate conversions, every time
MetersToFeet.com is a free, ad-supported reference for converting between meters and feet, with the formula, worked examples and authoritative sources most calculator sites leave out.
1 Our methodology
All conversions on this site use the internationally defined factor 1 foot = 0.3048 meters exactly, established by the international yard and pound agreement of 1959. The inverse factor 1 meter = 3.28083989501... feet is rounded to 3.28084 for display, accurate to within 0.0001%, well below any practical measurement tolerance.
meters = feet x 0.3048
For values displayed as feet and inches, the integer part of the decimal feet result is the foot count, and the fractional part is multiplied by 12 to produce the inch count. Example: 1.75 m = 5.7415 ft = 5 ft 8.90 in.

3 Editorial standards
